Trevor Povey

Borderline Comment:

One of the club's favourite bands and a great bunch of guys.

Biography:

Trevor Povey played his first gig in October 1957 and has played with Peter Green and Eric Clapton. The band's version of "Black Magic Woman" and "Need Your Love So Bad" are a perfect tribute to the genius of Peter Green and Trevor's own "Mr. Sunshine" is one of my personal favourites.

The band's rhythm section featuring Metal Mickey (drums) and Richard Bishop (bass) provides excellent support, they're as solid as a rock.

The band's first CD "Roadhouse Blues" was recorded live at The Swan in Ironbridge in 1991 and although the quality of the recording is variable, it does provide a glimpse of their abilities. Having said that, you really need to see them live.

Trevor and Richard played at the first Wellington Blues festival in August 2002 and even without Mickey's support they menegad to hold the audience mesomrised from start to finish.
