Borderline Comment:

The band's first visit to The Borderline Club is scheduled for 5th September 2003 and they come with a top reputation from a number of reliable sources.

The Band :

Colin Black (Guitars)

Since his export from Canada, Colin has been one of the most influential guitarists to tour the domestic and European blues scenes. Originally based in Glasgow, Colin and his band, The Hideaway Blues Band had widespread success and recognition through extensive touring schedules, support work ( e.g. Gary Moore/Baker/Bruce) and studio albums such as 'Nice Work If You Can Get It'. Colin was the inspiration and mentor to such people like The Nimmo Brothers, who earned their blues wings under the banner of Colin's Hideaways. Now based in Preston, Lancashire, Colin continues to inspire and set the precedent for how heartfelt Chicago Blues should be played.

Boyd Tonner (Drums/vocals)

Boyd was an original member of The Blackwater Blues Band, another fine Chicago styled blues outfit hailing from Glasgow. Like The Hideaways, The Blackwaters commanded a huge respect in the blues community through a gruelling tour schedule and support work for the likes of The Walter Trout Band. Although already good friends, Colin and Boyd use their talents and experience to form the plexus of The Stumble, a group committed to the live rapturous Chicago style of the blues.

Jonny Spencer (Guitars)

Jon served his blues apprenticeship playing with Doc Hunt's Blues Prescription, a well known blues collective playing in the Preston area. From this he helped to form Mellow Down Easy, a hard gigging band earning plaudits for their 1998 Colne Festival appearance with stunning blues harp and Jon's cutting slide solos. After disbanding in 1999 Jon quickly answered The Stumble's call for a player with real blues commitment.

Dave Heath (Bass)

Dave was one of the original members of Cold Shot, the renowned Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band. This band toured the UK and Europe extensively during the 90's playing on the same bill as Dr Feelgood, Mojo Bruford, Lefty Dizz, Guitar Shorty and Phil Guy, to name but a few. His solid bass lines have graced many a blues joint with a commitment to laying the foundations for some real powerful grooves for the solo artists to really get down on. Dave now brings those fat wires to The Stumble for an opportunity to really take care of business.
